“Do you want to see my Liza under the sun?” is what Hyeongjun asks the moment Dongpyo drops his backpack on the table.

"No, I'm beging you, please," Woongki answers in front of him. The boy is sitting facing them, instead of at the front of the class, as always, taking advantage of the last minutes before the class begins. “That lizard you have as pet makes me really sick.”

"But she's soooo cute," Hyeongjun then replies, a pout appearing on his lips.

He doesn't have time to protest anymore because it’s at that moment when their tutor, the teacher they have first thing in the morning, comes in and tells them to shut up and sit properly. The students are disciplined, but at the same time they feel adult enough and tired of high school life not to obey instructions quickly, so Dongpyo has time to sit down and finish taking out his books slowly before Woongki has sat down again like a normal person. It takes at least a couple of minutes until the entire class is ready to start that morning and that's when professor Han decides it's time to start talking again.

"I know it's strange because we're halfway through the course, but today I want to introduce you to a new classmate," he comments. His presentation causes murmurs to begin to be heard in the class and Dongpyo is very curious about the new person they are going to have there and, above all, about his story, in the same way that he feels that his two friends, Woongki and Hyeongjun, they can't sit still either, their feet tapping the floor lightly. “But I hope you treat him well and that he integrates without any problems, since there are only a few months left before you have to take the CSAT,” the man says, with a small smile. “Eunsang, you can come in.”

And, at his call, the classroom door opens wide, although it was not completely closed, to let in a tall, very tall boy, with strong but at the same time still boyish features and a mole on his chin. Dongpyo feels his mouth open wide without him being able to do anything to close it because that boy who just walked through the door is totally his type.

“Hello everyone,” says the boy, his voice is deep and makes Dongpyo feel even hotter than the beginning of summer makes him feel. “My name is Lee Eunsang and I hope we get along well” the boy makes a small bow and then a slight smile graces his face, so short and so small that Dongpyo doesn't know if he has imagined it.

“You can sit in that free seat at the back,” professor Han says then, pointing towards the row in which their small group is located. “The seat next to Woongki has been free since the beginning of the course.”

The boy nods and then walks directly up to them, dropping his backpack carefully on the table and sitting next to Woongki, who is so excited at the moment that he can't sit still, so much so that he doesn't even wait until the new boy arrives and finishes settling in next to him when he is already talking to him.

"Hello, I'm Cha Woongki and these are my friends," he tells him, pointing to the back row, where they are. “Hyeongjun and Dongpyo” he introduces them quickly “but you don't miss anything if you don't want to be their friend, you're more than fine with me.”

“Hey!” Hyeongjun protests.

But his protest is overshadowed by Professor Han's voice, asking them to shut up and attend to begin that morning's lesson and for Dongpyo everything remains silent, everything disappears around him and the only thing he can hear is the quick heartbeat in his chest after Eunsang gives them a wide smile and says “nice to meet you” turning to the board a second later.

"He's the man of my life," Dongpyo practically screams, jumping around the school hallway, unable to contain his happiness.

“Who? Eunsang?” Woongki asks, looking confused.

Quickly, Dongpyo goes to him and puts his hand on his mouth so he doesn't speak again. They are still at school, there are still a lot of students in the hallway where they are and, although the boy has just arrived that morning, Dongpyo has already seen how he stirs up passions and is the talk of the place. It's normal, not only has he arrived new in the last year, but he has done so in the middle of the semester, so everyone wants to know why he is there... but also, he is handsome, he is very handsome, he has everything what Dongpyo looks for in a man and if he is not blind and sees how handsome he is, the rest of the world is not blind either. However, even though he is very handsome and is the new center of attention of practically the entire school, Dongpyo is not comfortable with people saying that he has a crush on Eunsang, which is why he shut up Woongki.

“He's handsome,” says Hyeongjun, biting into one of the sausages they went to buy at the store. “But he's not my type.”

“Of course he's not your type,” Woongki replies, licking Dongpyo's hand away from him. “We all know your type is Park Serim, the gym intern teacher.”

Obviously, Hyeongjun doesn't let this go and retorts how Woongki is crushing on his college neighbor Seunghwan, but Dongpyo doesn't pay much attention to them, dramatically wiping his drool-filled hand on the pants of his uniform and looking with disgust at the slight dark stain it leaves on his clothes. At some point soon, he’ll serve revenge against Woongki for that disgusting lick, but for the moment, he has other, much more interesting things to do, like thinking about the way in which he is going to approach Eunsang and how he is going to dazzle him to make him fell in love with him like Dongpyo just fell for the boy. It can't be especially difficult for them to spend some time together, considering that, luckily, he’s sitting right in front of him and this way he has a lot of access to be able to talk to him, even if it's just about classes or tentative questions about the boy to get to know him better. Dongpyo is not in such a hurry, after all, he has still a little over a month away from summer vacation and by then he would like to have Eunsang interested in him at least, but he has to start organizing.

“Pyo,” Woongki then calls him. “Do you know that there’s an app to see if you are romantically compatible with a person?”

“An app?” He asks, a bit confused.

Dongpyo has seen several dramas set in the nineties and early two thousand, enough to know that at that time, when he was not yet born nor was he in his parents' thoughts, the girls were looking to see if they were compatible with their crushes using their names and converting them into numbers to do so, but the boy had never imagined that there was an app for the same thing, in a more modern way and without the new lovers having to do math, making it more practical and convenient.

"Yes, look," Woongki answers, taking his phone out of his pants pocket, unlocking it and searching through the thousands of otomes bl applications until he finds one that has the icon of an owl with heart-shaped eyes and under which reads Glau. “This is it,” he points out. “You register, enter your information, your date of birth, with the time and so on and then here, on this screen you enter exactly the same thing about your crush and it makes a calculation of everything to see what your compatibility percentage is” he explains his friend, showing him one by one the functions of the app and showing how to do the compatibility with the data he has entered from his neighbor, showing how after a few moments the calculation comes out done, a giant and colored 85% pink adorning the screen. “It's easy, you just have to know a little more about him to be able to use it and give you the most accurate percentage.”

"But I don't even know what time I was born," Dongpyo replies, a little confused, as he sees how Hyeongjun is completely immersed in downloading the app himself. “How am I supposed to know all that about him?”

“Don't worry, you can always ask your mother about yours to get your astrological chart” says the boy “And I'm sure you'll find some time to ask Eunsang about all of this, although preferably don't do it all at once, so as not to scare him.”

Dongpyo nods and downloads the app before lunch is over, hoping he gets an idea so he can ask him everything he needs to know about the boy without him wanting to run away from him.

It turns out that Dongpyo in the end doesn't even have to ask himself, just listen, because apparently he's not the only one interested in getting as much data as possible from Eunsang to use in Glau. Just three days after the boy's arrival to class, between Math II and Self-study time, a small group of girls from his class drag their chairs to sit around the table that Eunsang and Woongki share to ask the boy about absolutely everything they need from him —and everything Dongpyo needs too. His complete birthday, including the time he was born, his zodiac sign... everything, literally everything that has to be entered into the app to know the love compatibility with him, so the boy doesn’t hesitate to take one of his notebooks and take notes as he listens to everything, pretending that he is actually writing down the exercises in one of the books that he has open on his desk, under the watchful eye of his two friends, who don’t miss any detail of everything he does, with evil smiles on their faces. If that had been another day, another time, and Dongpyo wasn't so focused on doing his formal investigation into Eunsang, he would have taken their smiles away with sarcastic comments about their own love lives, but that would have to wait until he finished finding out everything he needs.

The girls in his class do splendid research work and Dongpyo will thank them all his life, because by the time one of his teachers comes to check that everyone is doing what they are supposed to, studying or doing exercises, and he orders everyone to go back to their desks, Dongpyo has absolutely all the information necessary to see if he is compatible with Eunsang. He’s quite excited about it, although deep down he knows that it is nonsense, but after seeing how the app worked with Woongki and searching for comments about its accuracy on sns, perhaps he’s convinced that the result he gets is something to take into account in order to determine his next step with the boy. He can't wait to start it and is dying to do it, but he knows that his reaction is going to be intense, whatever the result, so Dongpyo can't do it in class and get the attention of all his classmates, including Eunsang, so the boy just tries to focus on something else until that hour is over, because the moment it does, he’ll be free to leave class and go home.

"Don't wait for me to go home," he says to Hyeongjun, next to him, causing the boy to raise an eyebrow at him, confused. "I'm going to check the compatibility with the app," he clarifies, "I need the school to empty a little so I can scream at ease without attracting attention.”

Hyeongjun nods and gives him a thumbs up, understanding. The three of them aren’t the most silent  people in the world and they tend to talk loudly and gesticulate a lot in any context, but especially when they are extremelly excited, so he knows perfectly well that Dongpyo is going to let everything go at the moment when he knows the outcome, whether it's joy or frustration at not getting what he expects. When Hyeongjun touches Woongki’s arm to whisper to him what Dongpyo just told him, the boy is about to scream in the silence of the class, but he restrains himself by putting his hands to his mouth and says “ok” with his fingers, and then dramatically throwing hearts at him, making Dongpyo unable to hold back his laughter. Hyeongjun can't contain his either after that and, apparently, Eunsang notices the movement that Woongki makes next to him and also finds it terribly funny because he joins in the laughter. When at that moment the teacher on duty passes by his class again and hears them bursting out laughing is something very unfortunate because the four of them get a warning, but for Dongpyo that moment is worth gold because Eunsang's laugh is as precious as he is. .

By the time the bell rings to end the last class of the day, Dongpyo has already collected all his things and put them in his backpack, so all he has to do is say a dramatic goodbye to his two friends, whom he is literally going to see the next morning and rush out to hide in the school's backyard, a place where there is absolutely no one at that time because everyone wants to go home, and hide there to start to fill out all the fields in the app, crouching behind some bushes, his cell phone in one hand and the notebook where he has written everything down in the other. His handwriting is a bit chaotic and the way he has written things even more so, but Dongpyo dedicates his body and soul to his task and just a few minutes later he has everything ready and checks it a couple of times to make sure that he hasn’t made a mistake in anything. Once he has verified that everything is perfect, the boy takes a deep breath and then presses the start button.

With his heart in his mouth, Dongpyo watches as the screen changes colors, mixing them and drawing different shapes before a kind of thermometer appears and fills in little by little, rising and rising and rising without rest. The boy is unable to even blink, staring at the screen of his cell phone until the thermometer explodes and a huge “100%” appears on it. Dongpyo almost throws the phone on the floor with excitement and starts jumping and screaming, not caring about anything because right now he has confirmation that his crush on Eunsang has every chance of turning out well because they are totally compatible. Not even caring that NovemBer, the black cat that always hangs around the school, is watching him from one of the branches of a nearby tree, Dongpyo gets up from the ground and begins to dance all the girl group choreographies he knows at once. His excitement, happiness and self-absorption are so great that the boy doesn’t even realize that it is not just the black cat that has been watching him for a while, until the person in question enters his field of vision while he is dancing to Billlie's latest song and Dongyo ends up remaining completely static, with the hand holding his cell phone raised, the screen practically in Eunsang's face.

"Oh," is the only thing the boy says, moving even closer to the cell phone to see its screen better, and then he flashes a warm smile that makes Dongpyo's heart start to beat like crazy inside his chest. “I see that we are totally compatible,” he murmurs. The boy then realizes that maybe he should move, talk, try to save his reputation a little and, above all, put his cell phone away so that Eunsang doesn't continue seeing that, but before he can do or say anything, the boy speaks again. “I was a little afraid to approach you with any intentions other than being friends, but I see that my doubts were stupid... would you like to go on a date with me so we can get to know each other better?”

Dongpyo blinks rapidly, opens and closes his mouth as if he were a fish out of water, and in short, he has gone completely blank and doesn't know what to do or what to say. The boy had been calculating that he would have to spend a lot of time courting Eunsang and making hints to make him understand that he was interested in him and that he would like to be more than friends, with the consequent time spent on being friends as well, so all of this seemed to caught him completely off guard. The minutes pass and Eunsang's smile doesn’t fade, so Dongpyo ends up calming down little by little, enough to assimilate everything that has happened to him in the last few minutes, until everything ends up clicking in his brain and the boy jumps, putting his hands to his face.

“Are you serious?” He asks Eunsang to confirm it one last time.

“Of course I'm serious,” the boy responds, the smile on his face widening. “What do you say?”

“Yes,” Dongpyo quickly replies, still not being able to believe it.

“Is this Sunday good for you?”

“It suits me perfectly.”

~

Dongpyo has to contain all his excitement and nervousness for the rest of the week until Sunday arrives, while in class he’s with Eunsang every day, who begins to integrate little by little into the dynamics of his trio of friends, making it a foursome... or at least he tries to contain it, because it’s clear that doing so is something he’s terribly bad at and that both Hyeongjun and Woongki are both poking him all day about how he and Eunsang are going to be a pair of lovers so clingy that they are going to be very disgusted —even though they have done absolutely nothing more than smile at each other and walk together for a while after class to return home— makes him even more nervous and, above all, in a bad mood. However, Dongpyo endures the downpour as best he can and when Sunday arrives and he spends the day hanging out with Eunsang, first eating teokbokki in a small restaurant in the neighborhood and then in the arcades playing whatever they can get their hands on, he feels that all the decisions that have led him to that moment have been worth it, especially when Eunsang leaves him at the door of his house and gives him a short kiss on the lips that makes the stuffed animals, a snowman and an one-eyed rabbit that the other took out of one of the arcade machines for him, fall to the floor. At that moment, Dongpyo feels like the luckiest boy in the universe and nothing and no one is going to change his mind.
